DRIJVEND ZWEMBAD / AMSTERDAM (NL)

The water supplier Waternet, based in Amsterdam, asked Van der Giesen architects in 2010 to design a floating swimming pool. Within a time frame of 6 months Van der Giesen architects designed the first floating swimming pool in The Netherlands ever. The swimming pool consists out of a concrete structure of 30 meters long by 7 meters wide. Technical installations are integrated below the decks on both sides of the pool. This project was realised in collaboration  with I-O-U architecture from Amsterdam.
