PARKEERGARAGE / MIDDELKERKE (BE)

Because of an increase of the visitors coming to the coastal city Middelkerke in Belgium, there is a need for extra parking space in town. The parking spots have been divided on the lot as efficient as possible for this design for a prize competition. The building has been designed with an extra attention regarding to the existing infrastructure surrounding the building site. By designing a split level parking garage with a basement level, the building doesn’t exceed it’s neighbouring buildings in height. The facade resembles a checker pattern, partly filled in with bamboo.
